Imanol e Iñigo están atravesando un momento muy dulce en sus carreras como entrenadores. El mayor de los hermanos volvió a Chipre para entrenar al AEK Larnaka por segunda vez. Tras un primer paso por el club en el que consiguió la Copa de Chipre, esta segunda etapa ha empezado con buen pie consiguiendo victorias importantes ante el Doxa, Anorthosis y Nea Salamis y un empate a cero a domicilio ante el AEL Limassol. Desde su llegada, el equipo no conoce la derrota. Han materializado diez goles a favor y no han encajado ninguno. El AEK ha pasado de ser séptimo en la clasificación a estar cuarto y meterse en la lucha del grupo de los campeones.
Iñigo Idiakez, desde hace cinco semanas, forma parte del staff técnico del Luton Town FC como First Team Coach junto al entrenador interino Mick Harford, por la marcha de Nathan Jones al Stoke City. Tras una racha de partidos sin conseguir ganar, desde la llegada de este nuevo cuerpo técnico, el equipo solo conoce la victoria. Han ganado al Peretborough, Southend, Portsmouth y Shrewsbury con un bagaje de once tantos a favor y dos en contra. Actualmente, son líderes de la League One y se sitúan en puestos de ascenso directo a la Championship.
